Esther is a marine ecologist, who obtained her diploma of biology from the University of Kiel, Germany. She did her Ph.D. in the field of chemical ecology at GEOMAR Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research Kiel, Germany. After her Ph.D., Esther worked as a postdoc and scientific project coordinator on a remote sensing project located at the Research and Technology Centre (FTZ) of the Kiel University operating on the interface between applied ecological research and the implementation of government policies. Esther joined the SOLAS International Project Office (IPO) at GEOMAR as Project Officer in September 2018. In addition to her position at SOLAS Esther works as project manager at GEOMAR coordinating the collaborative REEBUS project - Role of Eddies in the Carbon Pump of Eastern Boundary Upwelling Systems.
