Jasper Bloemen is a post-doc researcher and experimental ecologist, who has a strong interest in understanding responses of ecosystem processes to climate change at small to large scale. In particular his research focusses on carbon cycling in trees and tree mortality in response to climate extreme events. After obtaining his PhD at Ghent University, Belgium in December 2013, Jasper moved to Innsbruck to continue his research on tree ecology. He is also the main editor of the Blog of the Biogeosciences division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU).
