IPBES Regional Assessment for Europe and Central Asia co-led by Chair of Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA)
Researchers associated with the Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA) project will take a lead role in the Regional Assessment for Europe and Central Asia that is under preparation by the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).
The Assessment will be co-led by Maka Bitsadze (WWF Georgia), Mark Rounsevell (University of Edinburgh) and Markus Fischer (University of Bern, and Chair of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Global Mountain Biodiversity Assessment (GMBA) project).
Markus Fischer will also host the IPBES Technical Support Unit for the Assessment at the Institute of Plant Sciences at the University of Bern.
