Call for abstracts: PECS second open science conference
The Programme on Ecosystem Change and Society (PECS), a global research project of Future Earth, has opened a call for abstracts for its second international conference. This conference, called “PECS II – Place-Based Transdisciplinary Research for Global Sustainability,” will run from 7 to 10 November 2017 in Oaxaca City, Mexico. It will focus on how the world can build pathways to sustainability in different places and contexts.
The conference organisers are accepting abstract submissions for oral presentations, speed talks and poster sessions. The conference will address four general themes:
- Context-specific pathways for working towards sustainability,
- Challenges and opportunities for informing global sustainability through place-based research,
- Social-ecological dynamics of ecosystem services: Synergies, trade-offs and links to human wellbeing,
- Cross-scale connections and feedbacks that impact the structure and dynamics of social-ecological systems.
The deadline for abstracts is 15 April 2017. To submit an abstract or to learn more about this conference, see the announcement here.
