Call for nominations: Authors and review editors for IPCC Sixth Assessment Report

Future Earth is seeking to nominate experts to serve as authors and review editors for the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). This comprehensive report will be released in 2021 and will include the contributions of three working groups – focusing on the science, impacts and solutions to climate change. As an observer organisation of the IPCC, Future Earth can submit nominations for lead authors, coordinating lead authors and review editors for this report.

IPCC strives to include mix of authors from different regions, from developed and developing countries and a balance of men and women. It is especially looking for experts outside of academia and practitioners, experts from the Global South and experts with a proven ability to operate across two or three of the working groups.

The Sixth Assessment Report will also adopt a stronger focus on the interactions between human society and climate change than previous reports, so social scientists are encouraged to apply.

To be considered for nomination, please submit your suggestion and a CV (maximum four pages) by 23 October to Kaela Slavik, Future Earth Science Officer, at kaela.slavik@futureearth.org.

For more information on the roles and responsibilities of lead authors, coordinating lead authors and expert reviewers, see the announcement here.
