Volunteer Opportunity: Translator/Proofreader (EN-FR)

Multilingual communication broadens the impact of Future Earth’s work, attracts and fosters audiences from around the globe. The Montreal Global Hub is seeking translation/proofreading volunteers with an interest in sustainability and research to assist in translating documents and other written communication pieces into French.
Key Role Responsibilities:

Translate from English to French communications of varying complexity such as presentations, newsletters, bulletins, social media posts, blog posts, meeting transcriptions, etc.

Check texts for simple and complex errors such as spelling mistakes and grammar errors
Candidate qualifications:
-
French native speaker: Excellent written and spoken, fluent in English

Pursuing studies in Translation is an asset
-
Professional experience translating from English into French is an asset
Key Competencies:

Strong terminology research capabilities

Ability to juggle priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Attention to detail, focus on quality

Web and social media experience an asset
