Future Earth’s 2024-2025 Annual Report illustrates a year defined by momentum, collaboration, and bold steps toward sustainability.
Our community continued to bridge science, policy, and action amid growing global disruption, advancing key research, building regional leadership, and amplifying diverse voices. From contributing to upcoming IPCC reports and shaping Horizon Europe’s agenda, to launching community initiatives in Karnataka and expanding our presence in Africa and Asia, this year reflects Future Earth’s commitment to Systems-level change.
Future Earth also expanded its commitment to inclusive collaboration and storytelling. We supported the next generation of researchers, strengthened Global South-led projects, and deepened engagement on digital transformation and justice-centered approaches to sustainability. Anthropocene Magazine reached new audiences with compelling journalism on sustainability science and innovation. The Earth Commission’s landmark assessment, the Special Collection in Global Sustainability, and the Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress showcased the scale, diversity, and ambition of our global network.
As we look back on a year of shared progress and growing momentum, we also recognize the shifting landscape ahead. Scientific, political, and institutional transitions continue to reshape the context in which we work. We invite you to browse this year’s report which is not only a record of impact, but an opportunity to reflect, learn, and be inspired to continue building bold, equitable, and responsive knowledge systems.
