Kathy Kohm

Editor-In-Chief, Anthropocene magazine

Kathryn Kohm is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Anthropocene, an international magazine focused on sustainability and climate science and sponsored by Future Earth with initial funding from National Science Foundation. Previously, she was the founding editor of the University of Washington’s Conservation magazine. She also edited several books, including “Balancing on the Brink of Extinction,” and “Creating a Forestry for the 21st Century.” Professional commendations include: a 2020 CASE Circle of Excellence Award for best university-based specialty magazine; an honorable mention in the 2020 World Changing Ideas list from Fast Company magazine; a 2019 Eddie Award (FOLIO) for editorial and design excellence; and in 2017, she was named one of the year's 40 most influential people in the publishing industry by Folio Magazine. She has a Master of Science degree from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and is now based in Seattle Washington, USA.
