Perrine Hamel

Perrine is the lead hydrologist at the Natural Capital Project, a partnership among Stanford University, the University of Minnesota, WWF and The Nature Conservancy. The mission of the project is to develop science-based approaches to value nature's benefits to society and incorporate natural capital into the decision-making process. Perrine’s work focuses on the development of water models and their application to watershed services assessments.Prior to joining the project, Perrine worked as an environmental engineer in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and earned her PhD at Monash University in Australia in the field of urban hydrology. Her dissertation work involved environmental monitoring and modeling work, including multi-scale modeling of stormwater retention systems. Perrine holds an Engineering diploma from the Ecole Centrale Nantes with a major in Civil and Environmental engineering.
