2nd Annual Meeting of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF)
Climate change requires significant reductions in global greenhouse gas emissions. Improving existing technologies will not be sufficient and innovation is essential. Climate change is a global issue, and it is essential for governments, business and academia around the world to work together to tackle this challenge.
ICEF aims to address climate change through innovation, and discussions at the forum will investigate what innovative measures should be developed, how innovation should be promoted, and how cooperation among stakeholders should be enhanced .
ICEF is hosted by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) and co-hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) and Ministry of the Environment (MOE).
Innovation requires time and continuous effort, and so ICEF is held every year. The steering committee has been established to ensure that ICEF operates in a manner reflecting the wide range of views of the international community.
