Managing interactions across SDGs: a tool for policymakers
The International Council for Science (ICSU) has announced that it will hold a side event during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, a platform hosted by the United Nations in New York. The side event, called "Managing interactions across SDGs: a tool for policymakers," is organised in partnership with the French Institute of research for development and the Government of Colombia. According to ICSU's announcement, it "will present the findings to date of work achieved and seek feedback from policy makers on the challenges and knowledge needs and gaps they face in the implementation of the SDGs."
The side event will run from 18:15 to 19:30 on 15 July in Conference Room D in the United Nations Conference Building. To learn more about this event, see the announcement from ICSU.
The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development will be held from 11 to 20 July. The Forum will follow-up on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, which United Nations member states adopted in 2015. In its announcement, the United Nations Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform writes:
The Forum, which adopts a Ministerial Declaration, is expected to provide political leadership, guidance and recommendations on the 2030 Agenda’s implementation and follow-up; keep track of progress of the SDGs; spur coherent policies informed by evidence, science and country experiences; as well as address new and emerging issues.
