Second Session of the UNEA
Member states of the United Nations and a range of stakeholders will gather May 23 to 27 for the second session of the United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA), "the world's highest-level decision-making body on the environment." The session will focus on the theme of "Delivering on the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development." During the event, which will be held in Nairobi, member nations will draft resolutions and a global call to action surrounding critical environmental challenges facing the planet.
This second session of the UNEA follows a June 2014 assembly in Nairobi that tackled diverse issues, including the illegal wildlife trade, air quality and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Future Earth will play an important role in the Science Policy Forum before the second session and will run an exhibition space throughout the meeting.
For more information or to register, check out the UNEA's website.
