Future Earth at Climate Week NYC 2026
Future Earth will join scientists, policymakers, communicators, and sustainability leaders in New York next week for Climate Week NYC, with members of the Future Earth community participating in events and conversations throughout the week.
Below is where you’ll find Future Earth connecting science to action.
First look at the 10 New Insights in Climate Science 2026/2027
On September 22, Future Earth, The Earth League, and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), together with the Consulate General of Sweden in New York, will host an invitation-only preview of the latest 10 New Insights in Climate Science report, to launch formally in a few weeks.
The annual report brings together leading scientists to distill critical developments in climate change research ahead of the UN climate conference. Johan Rockström will present this year’s ten key findings, followed by a panel discussion exploring what the latest science means for climate risks, policy choices, and the path toward COP31.
Launching a new approach to planetary communications
On September 23, Wendy Broadgate, Future Earth’s Global Hub Director, Sweden, & Interim Executive Director, will join leading scientists and communicators for Planetary Communications: International Launch, part of the Climate Hub at Climate Week NYC.
The event will mark the launch of the Planetary Communications Handbook, developed by the Stockholm Resilience Centre. The conversation will examine a growing challenge for the scientific community: how to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and societal action, particularly in a polarized information environment shaped by misinformation and disinformation.
Broadgate will join Johan Rockström, Farwiza Farhan, Axel Eriksson, Marika Haeggman, Tim Kelly, and Marcus Lundstedt for the discussion.
