IMBeR is an international project that promotes integrated marine research through a range of research topics towards sustainable, productive and healthy oceans at a time of global change, for the benefit of society.

IMBeR was formerly called Integrated Marine Biogeochemistry and Ecosystem Research (IMBER), which was formed as a core project of IGBP (International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme). It is co-sponsored by SCOR (Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research).
