International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) Project 2016 Science Conference

The International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) Project, a global research project of Future Earth, will hold its 2016 Science Conference in September in Breckenridge, Colorado, in the United States — a location known for its outdoor recreation and scenic mountain setting. The conference will draw roughly 600 participants from a range of sectors, including research, industry and all of the major U.S. funding agencies.

In addition to showcasing the newest advances in atmospheric chemistry research, the IGAC conference will call attention to the work of researchers from emerging nations and will provide numerous networking opportunities. These include events for early career researchers, such as a workshop on career development and a group hike. Session topics include atmospheric chemistry and urbanization, atmospheric chemistry and energy and atmospheric chemistry and climate change.

Conference sponsors include the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the United Kingdom's National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS). IGAC, which was formed in 1990, has a mission "to facilitate atmospheric chemistry research towards a sustainable world."

Early-bird registration for IGAC's 2016 Science Conference will extend from May 16 to June 15. The conference runs from September 26 to 30.
