Funding opportunity: Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management

Selected projects will receive up to USD 100,000 each. Projects are expected to run for up to three years and make larger global impacts through leveraging additional resources, replication and sharing of knowledge under the Global Environmental Facility (GEF)-Satoyama Project. This Call for Proposals is the second of two selection cycles, the first of which targeted the “Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot” and took place in November 2015.

The GEF-Satoyama Project focuses on production landscapes and seascapes (SEPLS) and aims to implement concrete steps towards building a society in harmony with nature. The objective is to mainstream conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services while improving human well-being in SELPS. The Project is thus part of an effort to achieve the Aichi Biodiversity Targets under the Convention on Biological Diversity, as well as the newly established United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
