Xiao Lu

Xiao is an Associate Professor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), Zhuhai, China. He obtained his PhD in Climatology from Peking University in July 2019, and then joined Harvard University as a postdoc researcher. He joined SYSU in May 2021, and is currently the leader of the Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Modeling Group. Xiao and his group studies the fate of greenhouse gas and atmospheric pollutants and their effects on ecosystem and climate change, integrating suborbital and satellite observations and global-to-regional atmospheric chemical models. He has published more than 70 research articles. He joined Future Earth in October 2022 at Global Hub China.

Yee Jun Tham

Yee Jun Tham is an Associate Professor at the School of Marine Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), Zhuhai, China. He obtained his PhD in Atmospheric Chemistry from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017, and then joined University of Helsinki as a postdoctoral researcher. He joined SYSU in January 2021, and is currently the leader of the Marine Atmospheric Chemistry Research Group. Yee Jun and his research group focus on the atmospheric emission from the ocean, halogen chemistry, and their environmental impacts. He has published more than 60 research articles. He worked as PI in several National and International research projects. He joined Future Earth in December 2024 at Global Hub China.

Qu Ya

Ya Qu graduated from Peking University with a master's degree in atmospheric physics and atmospheric environment, and is a senior engineer. She has been the Secretary-General of the China Meteorological Service Association since 2015 and is one of the founders of the China Meteorological Service Association. She is also a director of the China Association for Disaster Prevention, a member of the China Meteorological Application Service Standards Committee, and a member of the expert group of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Regional Association II from 2010 to 2013. She is mainly engaged in the management of public-private partnerships in the field of meteorological services in China. She has led project collaborations and research in high-impact meteorological areas such as wind and solar energy, transportation, environment, finance, and health. At the same time, she is also doing scientific research in the fields of meteorological benefit assessment and credit and ability evaluation of meteorological enterprises.

Jing Wei

Jing Wei is Associate Professor at Sun Yat-Sen University, School of Atmospheric Science. She achieved her PhD in Agricultural Science from Bonn University, Germany, and afterwards worked in Switzerland for three years. She is in charge of the international research and innovation programs of Future Earth Global Hub, China due to her multidisciplinary research background.

Debashis Nath

Debashis is working as Associate Professor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, Zhuhai. He did his PhD in Atmospheric Physics from National Atmospheric Research Laboratory, Dept. of Space, India. For a short while he worked in Kyoto University, Japan under JSPS Exchange Program. In 2011, he joined the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences as CAS Young International Scientist. In 2015 he joined IAP, CAS as Associate Professor. Debashis is mainly working on Asian monsoon dynamics, Arctic amplification and Stratosphere-Troposphere interaction and It's impact on extreme weather events in the surface. He has published more than 70 articles in the international journals and proceedings. He worked as PI in several National and International research projects. He joined the Future Earth on November 2021 at Global Hub China.

Zhongming Gao

Zhongming Gao joins Future Earth as a Science Officer under the Network and Capacity Building in China Hub. He holds a BSc in Atmospheric Science from Lanzhou University and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science from Washington State University. Currently, Zhongming is an associate professor at Sun Yat-sen University, focusing on boundary layer meteorology and land-ecosystem interaction.

Dr. Du is an associate professor at school of atmospheric sciences, Sun Yat-sen University. She received PhD from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research interests are centered around modelling different air quality fields within urban neighborhoods and studying the impact of turbulent transport and ventilation on the concentration fields. She is interested in understanding air quality and outdoor thermal comfort in urban environment within neighborhood scale.

He obtained his PhD from University of Science and Technology of China in 2019, and then joined SYSU as a postdoc researcher. He was promoted Associate Professor in 2022, and is currently the leader of the Satellite Meteorology and Rain-cluster Thermodynamics Group.

Jason Cohen

Dr. Jason Blake Cohen (Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) is a professor at China University of Mining and Technology. His research focuses on quantifying emissions of short-term climate forcers and air pollutants (methane and BC) using remotely sensed and ground-based measurements and atmospheric models. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 60 papers in top international journals. He is the recipient of the Jiangsu Friendship Award, and Jiangsu May-Day Award. Past and present service includes being a Founding Director of the International Atmospheric Environment Remote Sensing Society, a long-term convener for the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society, and support to the China National Committee for Future Earth.
